Viviani wins Giro d’Italia for second day in a row; Dennis retains pink jersey

EILAT– For the second consecutive stage in a row, Italian cyclist Elia Viviani of the Quick-Step Floors team, won in a bunch sprint for the Stage 3 of the 101st Giro d’Italia, the last of the stages to take place in Israel. The long distance run of 229 km. (142.29 miles) ran from Be’er Sheva to Eilat resulted in Vivani’s victory over Sacha Modolo (Team EF Education First-Drapac p/b Cannondale) and Sam Bennett (Bora – Hansgrohe), who finished second and third respectively.

Rohan Dennis of the BMC Racing Team remains the race’s General Classification leader and will continue to wear the pink jersey (Maglia Rosa) into the next stage.
