A New Orleans native, he graduated from Isidore Newman School in 2010 and was a member of Newman’s State Championship Soccer teams of 2009 and 2010. Murov was named to the All-District team as a midfielder. His passion for soccer led him to referee and coach soccer at Newman and Crescent City Soccer.

Judaism was always a big part of his life while growing up. He spent a decade of life as a camper and, later, a counselor at Henry S. Jacobs Camp in Utica, MS. Following his bar mitzvah, Murov was selected to be one of the New Orleans representatives on the Anti-Defamation League’s Donald Mintz Youth Leadership Mission to Washington, D.C. in 2008.

During his academic career Murov took time to spend a semester in Israel in 2012 where he taught English to immigrant fourth graders. He was also a volunteer at Loyola Law School’s Workplace Justice Project, where he used his Spanish language skills to help those less fortunate in efforts to recover unpaid wages.

He attended LSU and Loyola University, finishing his academic career in 2016.

A memorial service was held in the Feibelman Chapel of Temple Sinai, 6221 St. Charles Ave, New Orleans on Sunday, July 2, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. followed by a reception. Burial was private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), 1538 Louisiana Ave., New Orleans, LA 70115. Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home of Metairie was in charge of arrangements.
