Local artist needs ‘likes’ to win international contest

Local artist Anna Gil, whose recent shows at Gallery Orange and the Hemmerling Gallery on Royal Street have showcased her spiritual paintings, is in the running to win the first annual Golden Ghetto Award for international Jewish art.

Gil’s inspirational works are the product of prayer, meditation and study and are defined by Hebrew letters and phrases that come through in a startling, but pleasing way.

In order to win, Gil needs as many “likes” on the Golden Ghetto Award Facebook page as she can before the contest ends.. She is soliciting votes on the Golden Ghetto Award (event) between now and February 7, when the campaign officially ends. There is a Golden Ghetto Award group page, but that is a Facebook page set up for the organization and voting does not count on that page.

In order to vote properly, one needs to conduct a search for and then click on the search result. That will take you to the Facebook event page titled “Golden Ghetto Award.” Once there, scroll down and click on Anna’s Gil’s “Letters of Light” photo and “like” it. That’s all that’s necessary. Here’s a photo showing just how to vote:
