Aleeza Adelman begins new BBYO post

Former Jewish Community Day School (JCDS) teacher Aleeza Adelman started a new job yesterday as the director of Jewish Enrichment  with the B’nai B’rith Youth Organization (BBYO). Adelman will work out of New Orleans, providing Judaic content to BBYO locations and members across its national network. .

“I am thrilled to be joining the BBYO family,” said Adelman. “I was immediately attracted to BBYO’s commitment to providing Jewish teens with meaningful and engaging Jewish experiences, as well as strong leadership training. I am excited to be a part of the team and bring to BBYO my passion for Jewish learning and dedication to strengthening Jewish identity.”

Prior to her teaching role at JCDS, Adelman lived in Jerusalem for four years and completed the Pardes Educators Program and Year Program before earning a Certificate of Advanced Jewish Studies. Previously she earnerd a master’s degree from Hebrew College.

Natalie Spring, the director of Campaigns and Movement Initiatives, under whom Adelman will work, said she is confident is Adelman’s abilities. “Her expertise will propel our…program forward and greatly elevate our teen-led movement’s ability to not only create greater change, but also truly understand the connection between Judaism, social justice and civic engagement,” she said.
