Seth Fingerman, student athlete and pest control worker dies in Birmingham

SETH EDWARD FINGERMAN, an employee for Cook’s Pest Control in Birmingham and a former outstanding student athlete, who helped lead his high school to back-to-back Alabama state championships in basketball, died unexpectedly on December 23, 2012. He was 25. At the time of the state championships, Fingerman was also an All-State point guard and was named the Most Valuable Player in the Final Four tournament. Later, he played a year of basketball as a junior college student athlete at Bevill State. The son of Cathy and Irwin Fingerman of Birmingham, he is also survived by his siblings, brother Levi and sister Shera from Austin, TX.; grandparents Roslyn Fingerman of New Orleans and Birmingham and Audrey and Nathan Koss of Waco, TX; and numerous aunts and uncles. Graveside services were held Friday, December 28 at 11:00 am at Elmwood Cemetery. Donations are suggested to A.G. Gaston Boys and Girls Clubs.
