Lois Heiman graveside service held on Aug. 17

LOIS ANN HEIMAN, a longtime resident of New Orleans, passed away on August 14, 2025. She was 93.

A native of Chicago, she enjoyed doing needlepoint, knitting and playing Mah Jongg with her family and friends. She was a devotee of the daily Wordsearch feature  and regularly solved the daily newspaper crossword puzzles.

She often worked with her husband’s practice of optometry and also assisted him with his participation in a barbershop singing group and the Society for the Preservation of Barbershop Quartet Singing in America. 

She was preceded in death by a grandchild, Justin Heiman and is survived by her husband of 73 years, Dr. Solomon Heiman; her daughter Linda Watsky; her son Mark Heiman (Sharon); her brother Ed Mishlove; three grandchilddren and four great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was  held on Sunday, August 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at New Chevra Thilim Memorial Park, 5000 Iberville Street. Rabbi David Cohen-Henriquez officiated.
