Bette Sherman Mopsik is buried June 26

BETTE SHERMAN MOPSIK, a retired Jefferson Parish school teacher and reporter, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015.  She was 78.

A graduate of Louisiana State University, she was an accomplished actress and director of several plays throughout her life. Mopsik was the journalism and speech teacher at West Jefferson High School, a position from which she retired.

She was a member of Temple Sinai.

A loving wife and mother, he is survived by her husband of 54 years, Norman Mopsik; her son, Lawrence Mopsik and her step-daughter, Laura Mopsik of Palm Springs, CA.

Private graveside services were conducted on Friday morning, June 26, 2015 at Hebrew Rest Cemetery by Rabbi Ed Paul Cohn. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to your favorite charity . Condolences may be expressed online here.  Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home of Metairie was in charge of arrangements.
