Barbara Jeskin, former Temple Sinai secretary

BARBARA JESKIN, a former secretary for Temple Sinai for many years, died Sunday, October 21 after a long illness. She was 76.

Jeskin, who was pre-deceased by a former husband, came to Judaism by choice. A New Orleans native, she attended Warren Easton High School and later married Bernard Jeskin. After becoming a member of Temple Sinai, she volunteered and later worked in the office as a secretary under administrator Herbert Barton.

She is survived by her husband Bernard, a son Chris Antonatos (Cyrel) a daughter Keren A. Davis (Francis), step-children Jeffery Jeskin and Jill J. Linge (Gordon), a brother Philip Bloom (Brenda) a sister-in-law Elaine Antonatos and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be held October 23 afternoon at Jacob Schoen and Sons Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street. Funeral services were conducted by former Temple Sinai Rabbi Myra Soifer, now of Temple Sinai in Reno, NV, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Donations are suggested to Temple Sinai or the charity of your choice.
