Former Beth Israel Rebetzin Blanche Gewirtz is buried in MD

Blanche Gewirtz, the rebetzin of former Congregation Beth Israel Rabbi Jonah Gewirtz, died of complications from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), commonly called Lou Gehrig’s disease. The funeral was held April 28 in MD. She is survived by her husband and daughters Debra (Shim) Kurtz and Miriam (Larry) Kramer as well as sons Danny (Adina) Gewirtz and Jonathan (Esther Toby) Gewirtz. Memorial contributions are urged to be made to the ALS Foundation or the charity of your choice.
