The Jewish Community Center celebrates the 50th anniversary of its building on historic St. Charles Avenue tonight with the “Pop the Cork” gala fundraiser in the Audubon Tea Room.

Tickets for the event can be purchased by clicking here. Various levels of patron opportunities begin at $10,000 or less. Single tickets are $200, while couples can attend for $375. Single tickets for adults under 35 are being sold for $75.00 each.

The Uptown JCC building at 5342 St. Charles Avenue was built on property previously occupied by the Jewish Orphans Home. It had fallen into disrepair and was razed. The new building unveiled half a century ago is in the midst of a new capital campaign for rebuilding.

With two campuses, the JCC continues to serve both the Uptown and Metairie areas. The Metairie JCC is located on the grounds of the Goldring-Woldenberg campus at 3737 West Esplanadea Avenue.
