Retired furniture store owner Morris Krilov dies at 96; laid to rest
MORRIS KRILOV, 96, a retired furniture store owner died earlier today, August 30, in Metairie,. A longtime member of Congregation Chevra Thilim (Orthodox and later Conservative), Krilov and his family became members of Shir Chadash Conservative Synagogue at the time of the merger between Conservative synagogues Chevra Thilim and Tikvat Shalom.
In recent years he had been living at the Vista Shores Assisted Living Center, 5958 St. Bernard Avenue.
Married for many years to wife Selma Gloria (née Weinstein) Krilov, he is also survived by two sons Sandy (Leslie) and Alan of Hammond, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was also the foster father of Dr. Robert Trestman of New York, NY and the brother of Joyce Sherman and Anita Sonnefeld.
Graveside services was conducted at 4:00 Friday by Rabbi Ethan Linden at Chevra Thilim Memorial Park, 5000 Iberville Street at Helena Street.
A minyan in honor of his memory will take place on Sunday, September 1 at Vista Shores Assisted Living Center at 7:00 p.m. Due to road construction, it is advised to take Robert E. Lee Boulevard to St. Bernard Avenue.
