Retired travel agent Howard Rosen dies at 86
HOWARD JACK ROSEN, a retired travel agent who lived and worked in Metairie, died at his residence on Sunday, May 12. He was 86. Well-known and well-liked in his industry, Rosen was a longtime member of Tikvat Shalom before it merged with Chevra Thillim Synagogue and became Shir Chadash Conservative Synaogue. Rosen was president of the brotherhood for many years, sponsoring numerous breakfasts for congregation members.
Rosen was a Navy serviceman, who served honorably during World War II.
He is survived by his wife of many years Doris Weinstein Rosen, his daughters Alisa Weiner (Jon), Robin McQuinn (Tim), Eydie Pryzant (Rodger), his son Glen Rosen (Amy) and eight grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted today, May 14, at 1:00 p.m. by Rabbi Ethan Linden at Tikvat Shalom Cemetery in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, 4200 River Road in St. Rose, LA.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Shir Chadash Conservative Synagogue, 3737 West Esplanade Avenue North, Metairie, LA 70002.
