The Jewish Children’s Regional Service (JCRS)  has announced chef Susan Spicer, the James Beard Award-winning restaurateur and cookbook author will be the celebrity chef at its 11th annual community-wide Chanukah party titled Latkes with a Twist. This year’s event will be held, on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts (NOCCA) Press Street Station in the historic Faubourg Marigny.

Noted as one of the top Chanukah events in the country, according to the Washington Post, Spicer is the noted chef of Bayona in the French Quarter, the Rosedale Restaurant in Mid-City and Mondo at the New Orleans International Airport.

 

Chef Spicer will bring a Southern twist on latkes and will also offer several other delicious sides that night. Grammy-nominated drummer Joe Gelini will lead a trio of performance providing live music that night.  A limited open bar with wine, beer, and signature cocktails will cap off the evening. 

 

The evening begins at 6:00 p.m. with a Patron Pre-Party, and general admission starts at 6:30 p.m. Tickets to the patron event are $150, general admission tickets are $54, and tickets for those under age 35 are $36.
