Sylvia Kapelow Evensky, wife and mother, dies at 95

SYLVIA KAPELOW EVENSKY, who worked in commercial real estate development, died September 3. She was 95.

Evensky, who was an administrator with her husband Herbert for her brother Paul Kapelow, a shopping mall and commercial real estate developer, retired many years ago.

Evensky was a native of Memphis, but hadn’t lived there in some time. Predeceased by her husband, her survivors include her three children Harold Evensky (Deena) of Lubbock, TX., Jerry Evensky (Celia) of Syracuse, N.Y., and Barbara E. Trujillo (Javier) of Metairie, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Graveside services took place at 10:00 a.m. at the Sam Abraham Chapel in Baron Hirsch Cemetery in Memphis on Sunday, September 7. Rabbi Shai Finkelstein conducted the service.
